I bought Zack a GPS for Fathers Day a couple years ago. We have dabbled a bit in the sport(or hobby-whatever) known as Geo caching. You plan your trip and then go online and download geo cache sites to try and find on the way. It is basically a high tech treasure hunt. The cache ranges in size from match box to ammo box. You can take something but must leave something in return. It is pretty fun. We haven't done this a lot but it is always fun. We succeeded in our most difficult hunt yet. It was only across the highway from the Slot Canyon Inn, where we were staying. but WAY hard to find and fairly technical hiking. Also, there was the cave-and the mountain lion sightings. I was pretty sure Kaya was going to have a panic attack more than once(rodent bones, 22 shells...) Kaya was the one who spotted the cache that was almost never found by the Benzons...the GPS would only get us within + or - 30 feet in a large steep boulder field. We got a new southwestern key chain and left a few band aids and neosporin ointment- someone is bound to need on that trek!

How fun! I've been reading about Geo-Caching for a few years now, and recently Damek said he was interested, I think maybe a GPS unit will be a great christmas gift for him.
